  • Con M. Murphy
    President and CEO

    Con M. Murphy, President and CEOMurphy came to Hanford in March 2007, just two months after managing the final stages of cleaning up and closing the Department of Energy’s Fernald Site in Ohio.  Murphy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Engineering from the Cork Regional College of Technology in Ireland, as well as a Merchant Marine Chief Engineer’s License. His career has taken him from working on offshore rigs and supertankers with British Petroleum, to managing environmental remediation projects with National Energy Associates, IT Corporation (now owned by Shaw), and Fluor. 


  • Peter M. Knollmeyer
    Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

    Peter M. Knollmeyer, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Prior to being named executive vice president and COO in August 2007, Knollmeyer managed the final removal of 2,300 metric tons of corroded spent nuclear fuel, as well as 300 tons of debris and 40 cubic meters of radioactive sludge from Hanford’s K Basins. His 22 years of industry experience include positions with the U.S. Navy, DOE, DynCorp and B&W Nuclear Technologies (now AREVA). From 1983 to 1991, Knollmeyer was a U.S. Naval Officer, serving in a variety of leadership and engineering positions aboard a nuclear submarine. He is a certified Naval Nuclear Engineer and Naval Instructor. Knollmeyer earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and has nearly completed a master's degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Virginia.


  • Beth Bilson
    Vice President, Environment, Safety, Health & Quality

    Beth Bilson, Vice President, Environment, Safety, Health & QualityBilson is responsible for Safety Programs, Emergency Preparedness, Radiation  Protection, Nuclear Safety, and Tri-Party Agreement integration. Bilson joined Fluor Government Group in 2004 and most recently managed Fluor Hanford’s Regulatory Compliance organization. Before coming to Hanford, she managed Fluor Fernald’s project closeout and transition. Bilson’s previous assignments have been senior-management positions with various field offices of the Department of Energy, including the Richland Operations Office, where she was the Assistant Manager for the River Corridor.


  • Steve V. Doebler
    Vice President, Fast Flux Test Facility Closure

    Steve V. Doebler Vice President, Fast Flux Test Facility ClosureDoebler is responsible for the deactivation and decommissioning of the Fast Flux Test Facility (FFTF). Doebler started work at FFTF in 1977 after completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering at Oregon State University.  He attained his Professional Engineering license in Nuclear Engineering for Washington State in 1984.  Over the years, Doebler has risen through FFTF’s operations ranks, and except for a two-year stint as the Transition Projects Safety Manager, continued to fill various managerial positions at FFTF. His responsibilities included reactor operation, disposition of nuclear fuel to dry storage, disposition of sodium, and transition of the facility to a safe and compliant state. 


  • Bruce H. Ford
    Vice President, Soil & Water Remediation/Groundwater

    Bruce H. Ford, Vice President, Soil & Water Remediation/GroundwaterFord is responsible for integrating all contractor activities related to groundwater monitoring and cleanup at the Hanford Site, as well as integrating soil-remediation efforts within Fluor Hanford. Prior to being named Vice President of Soil & Water Remediation/Groundwater, Ford served as director of the Groundwater program for Fluor Hanford.


  • Bruce J. Hanni
    Vice President, Business Services

    Bruce J. Hanni, Vice President, Business ServicesHanni is responsible for Communications and Public Involvement, Community Programs and Economic Development, Contracts and Supply Chain, Information Services, Finance, and Legal Services.  Previously, he has served as Controller for Fluor Government Group’s Richland Office and Environmental and Nuclear business line, as well as Controller for Fluor Hanford.


  • D. Bruce Klos
    Vice President, Plutonium Finishing Plant Closure Project

    D. Bruce Klos, Vice President, Plutonium Finishing Plant Closure ProjectKlos is responsible for safe storage of plutonium and cleaning out and demolishing facilities that are part of the Plutonium Finishing Plant. Klos has nearly 35 years of experience in the nuclear industry, primarily in managing nuclear facilities. He was the project manager for the Fast Flux Test Facility, a prototype breeder reactor, during its evaluations for tritium and production of medical isotopes in the late 1990s, as well as the facility’s deactivation and decommissioning.  In 2004, Klos was named Vice President of the Plutonium Finishing Plant Closure Project. He has a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.


  • Charles M. Kronvall
    Director of Engineering, Richland Operations Center

    Charles M. Kronvall, Director of Engineering, Richland Operations Center Kronvall is responsible for the implementation of Engineering, Project Management, and Construction Management activities for Fluor at the Hanford Site.  He is also the Fluor Hanford Chief Engineer and Director of the Central Engineering organization. Kronvall has held a variety of management and engineering positions at Hanford since 1980, including Chief Engineer at the Plutonium Finishing Plant.  He has a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington State University. Kronvall is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Washington.


  • Harry Lacher
    Vice President, Workforce Services

    Harry Lacher, Vice President, Workforce ServicesLacher is responsible for Human Resources, Industrial Relations, and Employee Concerns for a workforce of approximately 3,600 employees. He also serves as chair of the Hanford Employee Welfare Trust, a board of contractor representatives that governs benefits for 4,340 active employees and 3,660 Hanford Site retirees. Lacher has 28 years of experience in the human resources field and has worked for the State of North Dakota and contractors at the Hanford Site. Prior to being named vice president of Workforce Services, Lacher served as director of Human Resources, Fluor Hanford. Lacher has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from North Dakota State University.


  • Dale E. McKenney
    Vice President, Waste Stabilization and Disposition

    Dale E. McKenney Vice President, Waste Stabilization and DispositionMcKenney is responsible for retrieving buried radioactive waste, processing solid radioactive waste for disposal on the Hanford Site or for shipment out of the state. He is also responsible for processing contaminated liquid waste and storing nearly 2,300 tons of spent nuclear fuel, as well as 1,936 capsules of highly radioactive cesium and strontium (nearly one-half of the nuclear material at Hanford by radioactivity). He has held key engineering and management positions on several Hanford projects related to waste management since beginning work at the Site in 1978. McKenney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering Technology from Oregon State University.


  • Norman P. Nunn
    Vice President, Project Systems & Support

    Norman P. Nunn, Vice President, Project Systems & SupportNunn is responsible for Project Controls, Operational Planning, and Special Projects. He has a diverse background in government nuclear, refining, petrochemical, natural gas and synthetic fuels industries, as well as in utilities, operations, engineering and project management. Nunn has held management and senior management positions on a variety of projects in 9 states and 15 countries since he joined Fluor in 1970. He holds both a Bachelor and a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.


  • Mark W. Peres
    Vice President, K Basins Closure

    Mark W. Peres, Vice President, K Basins Closure Peres is responsible for the removal of highly radioactive sludge, spent fuel fragments, and debris from two spent fuel storage basins, Hanford’s K Basins. He has more than 25 years of experience in Department of Energy nuclear facility and hazardous waste operations and oversight, including more than 20 years of management experience. Peres has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Montana State University, and he graduated from Washington State University with a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with Phi Kappa Phi honors. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Washington State and is certified as a Project Management Professional.


  • David G. Ruscitto
    Vice President, Sludge Treatment Project

    David G. Ruscitto Vice President, Sludge Treatment Project Ruscitto is responsible for the engineering and construction project to treat radioactive sludge from Hanford’s K Basins. Ruscitto joined the Fluor team at Hanford at the end of 2006. He has more than 32 years of engineering and project management experience in the government and private sectors, including 28 years of experience in nuclear engineering, operations, and construction with the US Navy, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Department of Energy. In the private sector, he has managed large and complex nuclear and non-nuclear engineering projects both in the United States and internationally and was Chief Engineer at Rocky Flats, Colorado.


  • Gary Sayers
    Director, Internal Audit

    Gary Sayers, Director, Internal AuditSayers is responsible for managing an internal audit program for the Project Hanford Management Contract. This program assures Fluor Hanford management and the Department of Energy that internal controls are in place to ensure company/contract goals can be achieved and assets are protected and working as intended. This program includes planning, developing, recommending, and monitoring procedures and systems that are used in internal audits and ensuring those procedures and systems comply with auditing standards and contract requirements.


  • Rich G. Slocum
    Vice President, Closure Services & Infrastructure

    Rich G. Slocum Vice President, Closure Services & Infrastructure Slocum is responsible for an organization of more than 650 employees who are involved in performing maintenance activities for nuclear and non-nuclear work, including the Hanford Fire Department. Prior to coming to Fluor Hanford, Slocum was the Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for DynCorp Tri-Cities Services, Inc. He has more than 45 years of senior management experience with the Department of Defense and Department of Energy. He studied chemical and general engineering through Washington State University and Columbia Basin College. He is affiliated with the American Nuclear Society (ANS), Association for Quality and Participation (AQP), and National Management Association (NMA).


  • Craig W. Walton
    Director, Safeguards and Security

    Craig W. Walton, Director, Safeguards and Security Walton is responsible for Safeguards and Security, including protective forces (Hanford Patrol), physical security, information security and nuclear material accountability and control. The Safeguards and Security program is designed to protect against the potential loss of special nuclear material or classified information as well as sabotage and is responsible for the general security of the Hanford site. Walton has worked at Hanford for 23 years, including 20 years in various management positions in Safeguards and Security. Walton has a degree in Accounting from Washington State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington.


  • Robert E. Wilkinson
    Vice President, Central Plateau D & D

    Robert E. Wilkinson, Vice President, Central Plateau D & D Wilkinson is responsible for the demolition of nuclear and industrial facilities; remediation of waste sites; and surveillance and maintenance of 530 waste sites, nine nuclear facilities and 150 radiological/industrial facilities. Prior to his current assignment, Wilkinson was the Facility Director at Hanford’s T Plant, responsible for waste-management operations at the oldest operating nuclear facility in the world. Wilkinson has more than 15 years of experience in facility operations and project management, as well as construction management within the government sector. Wilkinson graduated from Montana State University with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and has earned a certification in Project Management from the Project Management Institute.
